Woman arrested in north Cyprus for possession of 36 grams of synthetic drugs
Police in Lefkoşa, north Cyprus have arrested a woman, who was allegedly found in possession of synthetic drugs during a routine patrol stop.
The suspect identified as ST appeared in court on Wednesday Sept. 24, where she admitted purchasing the substances for ₺23,000, and was ordered to remain in custody for two days pending investigation.
According to police testimony delivered in court, the incident occurred on 23 September 2025 when a patrol unit stopped ST’s vehicle. A search uncovered 1 gram of a substance believed to be synthetic drugs in her wallet.
A subsequent search of the suspect’s residence in Lefkoşa revealed an additional 35 grams of the same suspected substance. Police stated that Tuğrul confessed to purchasing 40 grams of synthetic drugs from an individual in Lefkoşa on 19 September 2025, paying ₺23,000 for the transaction.
The seized material has been sent for forensic analysis. Investigators are also pursuing statements from additional witnesses, and one other suspect is reportedly still being sought in connection with the case.
She ordered to remain in custody for two days to allow the investigation to proceed.
