The north Cyprus police General Directorate has announced that a total of 134 individuals residing illegally in the country were arrested during a series of nationwide inspections carried out between August 29 and 31, 2025.
As part of the ongoing campaign against illegal residence, police teams conducted extensive checks in public areas, guesthouses, worker dormitories, betting offices, and entertainment venues across the country.
The inspections revealed that 134 people were living in North Cyprus without valid residence permits. All were taken into custody, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
In its statement, the Police General Directorate emphasized its determination to continue such inspections without interruption, stating that the operations aim to ensure public peace and security while tackling both illegal residence and other forms of crime.
