Mevlid Kandili to be marked across north Cyprus
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will mark Mevlid Kandili, the holy night commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad, with special programmes in mosques across the country.
Following evening prayers, events will take place nationwide between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM.
Mevlid Kandili, the night of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth, is being observed across the Islamic world this evening.
In a message issued for the occasion, President of Religious Affairs Hakan Moral emphasized that Mevlid Kandili offers a chance to remember and embrace the values of mercy, compassion, brotherhood, justice, and truth conveyed by the Prophet.
He said the Prophet’s exemplary life has guided humanity for centuries, and his teachings, shaped by the principles of the Qur’an, remain the strongest path for those seeking to rebuild their character and live with moral integrity.
Moral invited the public to attend tonight’s mosque programmes after evening prayers, encouraging participation in the spiritual atmosphere.
He wished that Mevlid Kandili would bring peace, blessings, and salvation to the Islamic world and all humanity.
