Man arrested for trespassing into ex-girlfriend’s home in north Cyprus
A man who was arrested for allegedly trespassing into his ex-girlfriend’s home in Lefkoşa, north Cyprus was released on strict bail condition.
The suspect identified as SS, a Turkish national appeared before the court on Friday Sept. 5 on charges of unlawful entry into property.
Police told the court that on 4 September 2025, the suspect went to his ex-girlfriend’s residence under the pretext of collecting his belongings. He allegedly entered the property without permission by passing through the garden gate.
The court heard that SS has a prior criminal record for similar offenses, with ongoing cases still pending. He was also previously convicted and sentenced in another case. The officer confirmed that the investigation into the current incident has been completed and requested that the suspect be released on suitable bail conditions, noting that he is in the country on a work permit.
After reviewing the case, the judge ruled that SS’s travel abroad be prohibited, and ordered him to report to a police station once a week. He was also required to deposit 20,000 TL in cash bail and provide two guarantors, each signing a 500,000 TL bond.
Court records further revealed that in June 2025, SS had been convicted at the Lefkoşa District Court in a separate case. He was fined 50,000 TL and ordered to sign a bond pledging to maintain peace and good behavior for a period of five years.
With the latest ruling, SS will remain free pending trial under the new bail conditions.
