Four arrested in south Cyprus for illegal stay
Four people were arrested by Greek Cypriot police in Nicosia on Tuesday night after a police check on the vehicle they were travelling in, for offences relating to illegal possession of property, illegal stay on the island, and other traffic offences.
A subsequent investigation revealed that the driver, aged 25, was driving without a driving licence, without insurance, road tax or a certificate of roadworthiness.
A search of the 25-year-old also revealed a credit card in another person’s name and various documents bearing bank account numbers in his possession, resulting in his arrest for the offence of illegal possession of property.
“Further investigations revealed that the three other individuals in the vehicle, two men and one woman, were illegally present in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus and were arrested to facilitate the investigation,” police said.
