Father arrested in north Cyprus for allegedly altering child’s grade in university IT system

Turkish Cypriot police have arrested a 59-year-old man, on allegations that he accessed a university’s information technology system in Gazimağusa to change his child’s grade.

According to a statement from the Police Press Office, the incident occurred on January 3, when the suspect identified as A.D., during his period of employment at the university, allegedly used a password assigned to him to gain unauthorized access to the system and alter the academic record.

Authorities said the suspect, who had been wanted in connection with the case, was apprehended on September 15 at Girne Tourism Port upon entering the country.

Police confirmed that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
