Cyprus police arrest 81-year-old man for cultivating cannabis

The Cyprus drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) officers arrested an 81-year-old man’s after conducting a search at his residence in Larnaca this morning following a tip off.

During the operation, officers discovered and seized two cannabis plants exceeding three metres in height, as well as a third cannabis plant measuring 90 centimetres tall.

Officers also found a quantity of cannabis with a total weight of 118 grams and a cannabis processing and drying system.

The 81-year-old was arrested for a flagrant offence and placed in custody to facilitate investigations.
