₺6,000 stolen from Mosque donation box in north Cyprus

A theft at a mosque in Gazimağusa, north Cyprus has resulted in the loss of approximately ₺6,000 in donations, police confirmed.

The incident occurred on 20 September 2025, when unknown individuals allegedly forced open the lock of a donation box located in the mosque’s courtyard. The cash stored inside was stolen.

Following a police investigation, a 44-year-old man identified as M.G. was arrested in connection with the case.

Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing to determine whether others were involved.
