37 individuals questioned in nationwide inspections target illegal residents

The North Cyprus Ministry of Interior has announced that simultaneous inspections conducted in Güzelyurt, İskele, and Lefkoşa resulted in 37 individuals being questioned. 

Authorities identified persons residing in the country illegally, initiating legal proceedings and transferring them to the Return Center under police supervision.

The coordinated operation was carried out by the Mobile Migration Inspection units of the Migration Management Center, in cooperation with district governorates and the police. During the inspections, officials conducted thorough checks of residence permits to ensure compliance with national regulations.

According to the Ministry, those found living without legal status have been referred to the Return Center and the legal process is now underway.

Reaffirming its commitment to public security and the rule of law, the government emphasized that “illegal residency will not be tolerated under any circumstances.” Officials underlined that inspections will continue decisively across the country in order to safeguard public order and prevent unregistered living.
