Passenger arrested at Ercan Airport in Northern Cyprus for disorderly conduct
Ercan, Northern Cyprus – 11 August 2025 — A man identified as H.H.A. was arrested at Ercan Airport in the early hours of Monday morning for allegedly causing a public disturbance and behaving inappropriately in the arrivals hall.
According to police testimony presented in court, the police stated that at around 4:00 a.m., H.H.A. was shouting loudly without a reasonable excuse, disturbing those around him, and waving his arms in a disorderly manner. The incident reportedly occurred in the incoming passenger lounge of the airport.
The suspect was caught in the act and taken into custody, with an investigation launched immediately.
The police noted that H.H.A. had entered the country on 10 August with a 90-day visa, had no known ties in Northern Cyprus, and that there were no remaining matters that could affect the investigation.
The prosecution requested that the suspect be remanded in custody.
After evaluating the testimony, the judge ordered that H.H.A. be sent to prison for a period not exceeding four days pending further proceedings.
