President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar welcomed Shahzad Khurram, President of the Pakistan Cultural and Solidarity Association, along with members of the association’s board, at the newly inaugurated Presidential Complex in Lefkosa on Friday.
During the meeting, President Tatar emphasized the strong ties between the TRNC and Pakistan, noting that Pakistani nationals living in Northern Cyprus contribute significantly to the economy and society.
Expressing his pleasure at hosting the delegation, Tatar described Pakistan as an important country for both Turkey and the TRNC.
“Our Pakistani brothers and sisters have been living with us in the TRNC for many years. The values we share have helped them integrate easily into our society while strengthening the bonds between our peoples,” Tatar said.
He highlighted the achievements of Pakistanis in various sectors, particularly those who were among the first to arrive and establish their own businesses, underlining their contributions to the economy.
Tatar added that regular meetings with the Pakistan Cultural and Solidarity Association are “meaningful and valuable” for fostering cooperation. He also extended his congratulations on Pakistan’s recent Independence Day, wishing the association success in its future activities.
In his remarks, Association President Shahzad Khurram expressed his satisfaction with the visit and wished success for the new Presidential Complex.
He also conveyed his support for President Tatar in the upcoming elections, presenting him with a commemorative plaque as a gesture of goodwill.
The meeting concluded with the plaque presentation ceremony.
