Man jailed for disorderly conduct at Ercan Airport
Ercan,North Cyprus, 11 August 2025 — A man was arrested and brought before the court after allegedly causing a public disturbance and behaving inappropriately at Ercan Airport.
According to testimony presented in court by the police, the incident occurred at around 4:00 a.m. in the arrivals hall of the airport on Tuesday August 12.
Police said the suspect identified as HHA, a resident of Turkey, was shouting loudly without any reasonable excuse, disturbing those nearby, and waving his arms around in a disorderly manner.
HHA was reportedly caught in the act and taken into custody, with an investigation launched immediately.
Police informed the court that he had entered the country on 10 August on a 90-day visa, had no ties to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and that there were no remaining matters that could affect the investigation. The prosecution requested that he be remanded in custody.
After reviewing the evidence, the judge ordered that HHA be held in prison for a period not exceeding four days pending further proceedings.
