Man assaults acquaintance for cursing his wife in north Cyprus

A 44-year-old man has been arrested in Lapta after seriously injuring another man during a violent altercation at a café.

According to information from the Police Press Office, the incident took place at around 18:00 on 25 August 2025. The suspect, identified as M.B. (44), allegedly attacked İ.B. (53) inside a café after claiming the victim had insulted his wife.

Police reported that M.B. struck the victim multiple times, causing serious injuries. Medical examinations later confirmed that İ.B. sustained fractures to his skull and ribs as a result of the assault.

The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident. Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
