July inflation north Cyprus increased by 3.17% annual rate hits 35.33%
The north Cyprus Statistics Institute has released the inflation data for July 2025, reporting a monthly increase of 3.17% in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
According to the latest figures, prices have risen by 21.52% since December 2024, and by 35.33% compared to July of last year.
In July, the most significant price increases were seen in fresh beans with a 96.43% hike, followed by cucumbers at 87.25%, and red cabbage at 63.73%.
On the other hand, the steepest price drops were recorded in eggplants at 48.46%, plums at 38.28%, and melons at 38.06%.
Among the main expenditure groups, the highest monthly increase was observed in restaurants and hotels, which rose by 13.32%.
A decrease of 0.44% was recorded only in the clothing and footwear group.
Out of the 466 items tracked in the index, 391 showed an increase in average prices, while 75 saw a decrease.
