Turkish Naval vessels open to public in Girne
Girne, July 17, 2025 — As part of the 51st anniversary celebrations of Peace and Freedom Day on July 20, three warships from the Turkish Naval Forces will be visiting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and opened to public tours.
According to a statement from the Security Forces Command (GKK) Press Office, the vessels participating in the event include the TCG I. İnönü Submarine (S-360), TCG İmbat Fast Attack Craft (P-335), and TCG Bandırma Patrol Ship (F-502).
-TCG I. İnönü and TCG İmbat will be berthed at the Girne Tourism Port and available for public visits on July 20 between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
-TCG Bandırma, anchored off the coast of Girne, will also be open to visitors during the same hours. Access to the ship will be provided by sea from the Girne Old Harbor.
The event is part of the commemorations marking Turkey’s 1974 military intervention, which Turkish Cypriots celebrate as a day of liberation and peace.
Authorities invite the public to participate in the tours, offering a rare opportunity to explore the capabilities of the Turkish Navy up close and commemorate a significant day in the TRNC’s history.
