Turkish airlines plane makes emergency landing at Antalya airport due to malfunction
Antalya, Turkey – A Turkish Airlines (THY) flight en route from Istanbul to Antalya made an emergency landing at Antalya Airport on Monday following a hydraulic system malfunction, prompting an urgent evacuation of all passengers and crew.
The aircraft, which departed Istanbul at 17:25, experienced a critical technical fault mid-flight. Upon landing, emergency evacuation slides were deployed as a precautionary measure. A total of 47 passengers and 11 crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft.
According to initial reports, the landing gear overheated, raising concerns of a potential fire. As a safety precaution, the flight crew initiated an emergency evacuation immediately after the aircraft came to a stop on the runway. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the passengers or crew.
Footage and eyewitness accounts confirm that passengers exited the aircraft via emergency slides. Airport emergency teams responded swiftly to the incident.Turkish Airlines has yet to release an official statement regarding the technical issue, but aviation authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the malfunction. Flight operations at Antalya Airport continued without major disruption following the incident.
