Illegal taxi driver fined over 86,000 TL in Lefkoşa

A driver operating an unlicensed taxi service on İsmail Beyoğlu Street in Lefkoşa has been fined 86,938 TL and issued 50 penalty points after being caught in the act by police.

The incident was confirmed by the Lefkoşa Police Department's Traffic Division, which carried out the enforcement. Officers identified the individual while he was unlawfully transporting passengers for a fee, in clear violation of transportation regulations.

Authorities have reiterated that unauthorized passenger transport poses both legal and safety risks, and that operations against illegal taxi services will continue in full force.
