Unlicensed medical practitioner arrested for performing illegal Botox and fillers in Kyrenia

A joint inspection by the Cyprus Turkish Medical Association (KTTB) and the Police Organization led to the arrest of an individual performing unauthorized medical procedures in Girne.

The suspect was apprehended for illegally providing botox and filler treatments without the necessary medical qualifications.

In a statement, the KTTB emphasized that medical interventions performed by unlicensed individuals pose serious risks not only to individual health but also to public health. The association underlined its commitment to maintaining strict oversight and continuing its fight against unregistered and unauthorized medical practices.

“All medical procedures must be carried out exclusively by licensed physicians who are registered with the KTTB and possess the necessary professional competence,” the statement said. “Individuals should never trust unregistered or illegal healthcare providers. Unauthorized medical practices pose a severe threat to public health and tarnish the integrity of medical ethics and professional honor.”

The KTTB announced it will step up inspections to ensure the reliability of healthcare services, prevent unauthorized practices, and protect the public. The association also pledged to pursue legal action to the fullest extent against those involved in illegal medical procedures.
