Man from Africa assaulted and robbed in south Cyprus

Police in Nicosia, south Cyprus have launched an investigation into an assault and robbery that took place in the early hours of Friday in the Agioi Omologites area.

According to the complaint, the victim—a young man of African descent—was attacked at around 1:40 AM while walking home. A group of four to five masked individuals reportedly assaulted him and stole his mobile phone before fleeing the scene.

The man was taken to Nicosia General Hospital, where he was treated for scratches and bruises. Although his injuries were described as minor, he remained hospitalized due to feeling unwell.

The Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department is currently handling the case.
