Businessman’s home burgled in Yeniboğaziçi: 300,000 TL and gold stolen

Yeniboğaziçi – A burglary at the home of businessman Hüseyin Debreli has added to a recent spate of break-ins in the area. Unknown individuals broke into the residence last night by prying open the living room window with a screwdriver.

During the burglary, the perpetrators searched the house thoroughly, stealing approximately 300,000 TL in cash and a quantity of gold, before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred while Debreli and his family were away attending a wedding.

Speaking to reporters, Debreli explained that they left the house around 9:00 p.m. and returned at 11:30 p.m. to find their home ransacked. “It was as if a war had broken out in the house,” Debreli said, describing the scene, with drawers and wardrobes completely overturned.

Debreli also warned residents to take extra precautions, urging them to store cash and valuables in secure locations, given the recent surge in home burglaries.

Local residents expressed growing concern over security, claiming that three homes in the same area have been burglarized within the past month, leaving many feeling anxious and unsafe.

Police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
