25-year-old student dies after sudden illness on university campus in Güzelyurt

Güzelyurt, north Cyprus – A 25-year-old student, Lilian Bahati Kunzi, passed away after suddenly falling ill on the campus of a university operating in Güzelyurt, despite all efforts to save her.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Friday June 20 when Kunzi, a Congon national suddenly became unwell while on campus. 

Emergency teams from the Güzelyurt Health Centre responded swiftly and provided initial medical assistance at the scene. 

She was then transported by ambulance to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkosa. Sadly, despite continued medical intervention en route, she could not be revived and was pronounced dead.

Police have stated that the exact cause of death will be determined following an autopsy.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
