Tragic as man drown at Alagadi-2 beach while attempting to save his wife

ALAGADI (May 18, 2025) — A 34-year-old man lost his life on Sunday evening while attempting to rescue his wife from drowning at the Alagadi-2 beach, where rough sea conditions were reported.

According to a statement from the Police Press Office, the victim, Bayram Nurseyidev, entered the water around 5:00 PM after his wife began struggling in the turbulent sea. While trying to assist her, Nurseyidev himself encountered difficulties due to the strong currents.

Bystanders at the scene managed to pull Nurseyidev from the water and administered first aid on the shore. He was subsequently transported by ambulance to Girne Dr. Akçiçek Hospital. Despite intensive medical efforts, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead.

Authorities confirmed that the woman survived the incident, though her current condition was not disclosed.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and continue to examine the case.

Authorities are also urging beach goers to exercise extreme caution when swimming in rough sea conditions, particularly in unguarded areas.
