Man embezzles $11,000 in rental scam in Lefke

A 30-year-old man identified by initials A.B. has been arrested in Lefke on allegations of fraudulently renting out two apartments and misappropriating $11,000 in rental payments.

According to police, A.B. entered into a rental agreement with the property owner to lease two separate apartments for the years 2024 and 2025. The apartments were rented out during September and October 2024. However, instead of forwarding the collected rental payments to the property owner, A.B. allegedly kept the funds for himself.

The total amount embezzled is reported to be $11,000. Following a formal complaint, police launched an investigation and subsequently identified and arrested the suspect.

Authorities confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and legal proceedings will follow.
