Magnitude 6.1 earthquake hits Japan’s Hokkaido
A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck Japan’s Hokkaido today, according to the country’s Meteorological Agency, which reported the focal depth at 20 kilometres.
The earthquake’s epicentre was off the eastern coast of Hokkaido, the meteorological service stated, adding that no tsunami warning has been issued.
No damage has been reported thus far following the seismic event.
