Eight individuals detained in nationwide inspections for living in north Cyprus illegally

In a series of nationwide inspections carried out by the Police General Directorate in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), eight individuals were detained for residing in the country without legal status.

According to the Police Press Bulletin, six people were arrested during inspections conducted across the country for residing in the TRNC without the necessary legal permits or documentation.

Two arrested after altercation in Girne

In a separate incident, two individuals were taken into custody following a physical altercation in Girne. The incident occurred at approximately 01:30 AM and involved a dispute over financial matters between O.I. (male, 21) and O.E.M. (male, 24). Both individuals were found to be under the influence of a significant amount of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Police officers arrested the suspects at the scene. Subsequent immigration checks revealed that both were residing in the TRNC without valid residence permits.

Authorities have confirmed that legal proceedings are underway regarding all individuals detained.
