25-Year-old motorcyclist die in traffic collision in Pınarbaşı

Pınarbaşı — A fatal traffic accident that occurred between Pınarbaşı and Boğazköy on Saturday evening has resulted in the death of 25-year-old motorcyclist Rifat Gezici. 

The collision, which took place around 6:00 p.m. on 15 Kasım Street, involved a private vehicle driven by 63-year-old İbrahim Timbıl.

According to information provided by the Police Press Office, Timbıl was driving a sedan car in the eastbound direction when he attempted to make a careless left turn into his residence on the southern side of the road. During this maneuver, he blocked the path of an oncoming motorcycle driven at speed by Gezici.

The impact of the crash left Gezici critically injured. He was immediately transported to Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital by emergency responders, where despite all medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the sedan, İbrahim Timbıl, also sustained injuries in the accident and remains under treatment at the same hospital.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway. Authorities have yet to issue further statements regarding possible charges or contributing factors.
