Six arrested in Limassol for drugs illegally residency, six foreigners arrested for robbery

Six people were arrested in Limassol south Cyprus on Tuesday for illegally residing in Cyprus and possession of drugs.

The suspects were arrested during a coordinated operation in an abandoned building following a tip off.

The police found 11 foreigners, six of whom were on the island illegally and were thus arrested.

A search of the building found a bag with 27 packages of cannabis weighing a total of 22g, as well as 29 packages with about 13g of methamphetamine.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, six teenagers were brought before Larnaca District Court on Tuesday in connection with a string of robberies committed across the district between April 21 and 26, where they were remanded for eight days.

The suspects, all foreign nationals aged between 16 and 19, were arrested on Sunday following a coordinated police operation by Larnaca CID.

Larnaca police spokesman said officers secured testimony against the suspects after reviewing evidence and assessing intelligence. This led to court-approved arrest warrants.

All six were found in Larnaca on Monday and were arrested on the spot.

The group is under investigation for serious offences, including conspiracy to commit a felony, robbery, assault with intent to steal, and assault causing actual bodily harm.

Larnaca CID continues to investigate the case.
