Man attempts stealing ATM machine in Cyprus

The economy is hitting everyone so hard that stealing an ATM machine is now an option to survive the harsh reality facing citizens.

A man was remanded for four days by Larnaca District Court for attempting to remove an ATM machine.

The alarm of the ATM machine on the Larnaca-Dhekelia road went off at around 2am and when the police arrived they found a 22-year-old man trying to break into the ATM with an electric cutting tool.

The man was arrested for attempted theft and possession of burglary tools.
