Drugs found in vehicle of a young man stopped for speeding
During routine traffic inspections carried out by Turkish Cypriot police on Monday afternoon in Serhatköy, police found drugs in a vehicle of a young man who was stopped for speeding and a subsequent search of the suspect’s home also uncovered more drugs.
According to the police press bulletin, at around 3:00 PM on Monday Mach 31 in Serhatköy, a traffic team from the Güzelyurt Police Department stopped a driver, M.Y.G. (male, 28), for exceeding the speed limit. Noticing the driver’s suspicious behavior, officers conducted a search of the vehicle.
During the search, they found a grinder and a substance believed to be approximately half a gram of cannabis. As a result, M.Y.G. was arrested on the spot.
Further investigation led police to search his residence in Gönyeli, where they found approximately 10 grams of a substance believed to be cannabis, along with another grinder and an additional half a gram of suspected cannabis.
The police investigation is ongoing.
