Police in south Cyprus arrest over 50 individuals residing in the country: 10 deported already

Fifty-one foreign nationals who are not member of the EU were arrested in Cyprus on Sunday by Greek Cypriot police for living in the country illegally.

According to police, ten people were deported on Sunday and procedures to deport the other 41 have commenced. 

Since the beginning of the year, 3,105 third country nationals who were illegally residing in Cyprus (south) have been deported/repatriated, while during the same period last year, 2,890 persons have been repatriated.

The efforts of the police to identify and repatriate persons illegally residing in the country continue on a daily basis.
