New movement in south Cyprus vows to liberate the island from Turkey and Britain
A new movement in south Cyprus has vowed to liberate the entire Cyprus island from Turkey and Britain.
The self-proclaimed movement, the‘Revolutionary Liberation Fighters’ Bastion’ made its existence through flyers, placed on car windshields across Nicosia in south Cyprus last week.
They call for the launching of a liberation struggle against Turkish and British occupation, also referring to their Twitter page for further information.
‘We’ve been patient for 50 years as a peaceful solution of our major problem, occupation, was being sought’, the flyer notes. Unfortunately, all such efforts have failed and half of Cyprus is now suffering under the chokehold of the Turkish inv*der.
This is why, the Bastion’s proclamation notes, our movement is starting a long-term liberation struggle against Turkish occupation. ‘We will fight with all our might and means to free our country and occupied lands’, it says.
The movement calls on all Greek and Turkish Cypriots, Maronites and Armenians to join its ranks and fight for freedom, justice and independence.
The flyer includes a contact mobile phone and authorities are using this and other evidence to investigate the individuals behind this action.
