Light magnitude 3.9 earthquake hits Cyprus early on Wednesday
A light earthquake of magnitude 3.9 hit Cyprus early on Wednesday.
According to the announcement the department made, the earthquake hit
90 km northwest of Polis Chrysochou at a depth of 30 km, around 9:30am.
The quake was recorded some 84 km northwest of Peyia, Paphos district.
The European Institute also reported that the tremor had a focal depth of 55.8 km.
The issue is being monitored by the seismological service of the geological survey and information is published on the their website at: www.gsd-seismology.org.cy and http://www.moa.gov.cy/gsd , and also on their X, formerly known as Twitter, account at @CY_earthquakes.
