1 death and 8 New cases of coronavirus reported in TRNC on Friday, 5 are local cases

8 new cases of Covid-19 and 1 death were reported in Northern Cyprus on Friday which brings the total number of cases there so far to 1,743 and 10 deaths.

2,556 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours and 8 new cases were confirmed.

2 of the cases came to the TRNC by air, 1 person was in contact with a previous case who is under surveillance, and 5 were local cases.

Of the cases, 3 were from Lefkosa, 3 from Kyrenia and 2 people came from abroad.

They have started receiving treatment at the State Hospital Quarantine Service in Lefkosa.

An 81-year-old man who was being treated in intensive care unit died.

25 people were discharged from the hospital after completing treatment.
