Six students sent to jail for trying to enter south Cyprus illegal through a military forbidden area in Lefkosa
Six people who tried to enter south Cyprus illegally from North Cyprus were arrested by Turkish Cypriot police and sent to jail.
The six accused identified only as BJ, NJ, OJA, VLN, FMN and VMC who are students in the country were caught in a first-degree military forbidden area in Hamitköy Lefkosa at about 4:30am on March, 12 trying to enter south Cyprus illegally.
They were taken to a court in Lefkosa on Monday on charges of "violating first-degree military forbidden area"
They were ordered to remain in detention for three days pending police investigation.
