Man who failed to observe the mandatory 14 days isolation period in TRNC is arrested
Turkish Cypriot police has arrested and detained a person who entered the country and tried to enter south Cyprus without observing the mandatory 14 days quarantine period.
The individual, a 69-year-old man, arrived the TRNC on Saturday, March, 14 and then tried to cross the TRNC border with south Cyprus in Lefkosa at about 6:00am on Monday morning.
He was arrested and legal proceedings initiated against him at a court in Lefkosa.
Last week, the TRNC Ministry of Health issued a warning to all those who entered the country in the last 14 days to self isolate at home for 14 days and anyone who fails to comply will be prosecuted.
