Congolese student dies while playing football in Lefke

A 29-year-old Congolese student studying at the European University of Lefke died on Tuesday while playing football on a carpet pitch in Lefke.

According to police report, Bakoh Diborga suddenly fell ill while playing football on a carpet pitch. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved despite medical interventions.

The incident happened at about 7:00pm on Tuesday.

An autopsy will be held on Wednesday to determine the exact cause of death.
