Pilot project for self-service fuel station to be launched in the TRNC

A pilot project for self-service petrol stations is to be launched shortly in the TRNC.

At present, there is only one self-service petrol station operating in the country at Piyili Petrol in Metehan. 

The system, which is being implemented in a further four station by K-PET, will be tested and is expected to reach all fuel stations eventually.

The Head of the Fuel Station Owners Association, Levent Çağdal said that thanks to self-service, in the future, petrol stations will be open 24/7.

It will be possible to pay for fuel at the pump using a credit card, said Çağdal.
