Marvel has dropped a brand new trailer for Avengers: Endgame and we have even more questions.
Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark appears alongside Captain America,
Black Widow and Ant-Man in the trailer – which hints that he will return
to Earth after last being seen left for dead, floating in space.
We also get a hint at Captain Marvel’s interactions with the
Avengers; in a scene teased at the end of the trailer Thor tells Black
Widow: ‘I like this one’.
The disappearance of Hawkeye in Infinity War also led to a lot of
questions, and the previous trailer seemed to suggest he had indeed
become Ronin.
This new trailer delves a little bit into where Clint was, as we see
him teaching a young girl, possibly his daughter, how to shoot a bow and
arrow before it cuts to him standing over dead bodies after Thanos’
snap.
The movie will close out an 11-year plan by Marvel and Kevin Feige,
as one chapter in the MCU comes to an end. And this is hinted at in epic
fashion throughout the trailer, with flashbacks to the past 20-plus
movies playing throughout the trailer in black and white, and reflecting
how each story has led to this conclusion.
Talking about what’s to come, he continued: ‘I think there’s a lot of
story in that movie and a lot of characters in that movie. ‘In all
seriousness, we don’t look at run times in terms of mandates, or
anything like that. Every movie should feel like it’s an hour and 45
minutes.’
And as for why bosses decided not to reveal how the movie was titled
Endgame, Kevin told Collider that they thought it would be too much of a
spoiler for fans.
While at a Captain Marvel press day, the director said: ‘Well, I
think I’d said that it all had gotten blown out of proportion to some
extent. ‘But it was a spoiler, because if you knew before Infinity War
came out that the next movie was called Endgame, then you know that
there wasn’t an ending to Infinity War.’ Avengers: Endgame is in cinemas
26 April.
