Muslims celebrate Regaip Kandil tonight

The Muslim world will tonight celebrate one of the five holy nights in Islam the Regaip Kandil.

It is a holy night in Islam that commemorates the night that the Prophet Mohammed was conceived and signifies the start of the three moons or the three holy months that culminate in the Eid-al Fitr or Şeker Bayram at the end of Ramadan.

The night is regarded as the holy night to be forgiven, mercy and time for prayers to be accepted by God.

The head of the Religious Affairs Department Talip Atalay issued a message to mark the importance of the day.

He touched upon the importance of Regaip Kandil in his message by saying that tonight allows friendship and brotherhood to become further rooted and expressed the hope that peace and friendship will prevail in the world.
