Man drowns at Famagusta beach on Sunday afternoon

A  41-year-old man has died after he was swept away by an excessive sea wave at a Famagusta beach on Sunday afternoon.

The man identified as Haydar Yildiz, 41 was at the Bedis Beach in Gazimağusa having a bath at about 12:30 on Sunday when he was overwhelmed by the sea waves that drowned him.

Police are investigating the incident.
