Greek Cypriot arrested in north Cyprus with cocaine

Turkish Cypriot police on Wednesday arrested a Greek Cypriot man after he was caught trying to smuggled cocaine through the Metehan border gate in Lefkosa.

A police team from the TRNC Directorate of Narcotic and Smuggling Prevention received a tip off and quickly took action to prevent the smuggling of the drug across the border with south Cyprus.

The accused, Theodotos Theodotou was arrested after a police search on his vehicle on Tuesday night.

2 grams of caffeine and 12 grams of cocaine were seized from him.

In his interrogation, Theodotou confessed to the crime and was taken to a Lefkosa court.
