Turkish Cypriots stole church bell worth 150 Euros and try to sell it for 50,000 Euros in south Cyprus

A Church bell used in a Mosque in Serhatköy, Güzelyurt, north Cyprus which was stolen on August, 24 have been found and seized while it was being sold in south Cyprus.

According to report by police, the bell, an historical monument with a mixture of 250 kilograms of copper, chromium and 2.5 kilograms of gold fixed with wooden logs in a 6 meter high tower was stolen at about 3:30am on August 24th by 32-year-old Mujahid Ozmen.

The bell valued at 150,000 euros, was about to be sold to a customer in Southern Cyprus for about 50,000 euros when they were caught and arrested.

The two suspects were brought before a judge in a Lefkosa court on Sunday.
