Mojtaba Ebadi, an Iranian citizen was arrested on Tuesday night following a raid by the Financial Crimes police in a betting house in Girne.
10 computers and 9 mobile phones were screened by the police.
He was taken to a Girne court on Wednesday on charges of alleged illegal internet betting fraud.
He was ordered by the court to remain in detention for three days pending investigation.
