TRNC Parliamentary Speaker hit out at south Cyprus over right of the Turkish Cypriot people

The North Cyprus Assembly Speaker, Mrs, Sibel Siber has slammed south Cyprus for disrespecting the rights of the Turkish Cypriots.

Siber made the remarks regarding the latest development on the Cyprus issue and criticised Greek Cypriot president, Nikos Anastasiades’ stance on the issue on Tuesday.

According to her as reported by Turkish Cypriot daily, BRTK, Anastasiades did not accept the existence of the two peoples on the island or a solution model based on equality which was the reason behind the failure of the talks especially during the latest phase experienced on the Cyprus issue,

The Greek Cypriot leader continues to disrespect and ignore the rights and the will of the Turkish Cypriot people which led to the failure of the talks. He continues to voice his stance at every platform which is very disappointing said Siber.

She also drew attention to the fact that the Greek Cypriot administration had taken part in a meeting with Southern EU Countries in Rome earlier this year and on the recommendation put forward by Anastasiades, they had supported a joint resolution calling for a solution that removed all guarantees on the island.
