Three passengers caught at Ercan airport with loads of cash to face legal action

Three people who were stopped at Ercan airport for carrying cash in amounts above the permitted legal limit face legal action after attempting to leave the TRNC.
 
According to a police report on Monday, one person was found to be carrying 15,000 US$, a second traveller was carrying 15,000 US$ and the third person was attempting to leave the country carrying 15,800 US$. All three failed to declare these amounts to the authorities.

The permitted amount of cash that may be taken out of the TRNC is 10,000 euros (11.974 US$) or its equivalent.
