There will be Meteor shower tonight
Geminid (Gemini) from meteor rains, also known as "star-crossing", will be visible from Wednesday, December, 13 midnight onwards.
Geminid meteor shower allows you to see an average of 120 "star skids" per hour.
Experts who characterize Geminid as the most spectacular meteor shower emphasize that an average of 50 "star skies" can be seen per hour in open clear and dark sky.
"Meteor Geminid, known as "the king of meteor shower", consists of 3200 Phaethon, an unfinished comet made of rock fragments left behind the orbit around the Sun.
The North Cyprus, Meteorological Department Director Raif İlker Buran said that tonight's meteor shower could be watched from all over the world including Cyprus.
Every year, the Earth carries 940 million kilometers in its orbit around the south, and the same way for the last years, decades and centuries, comets and comets also traveled and left the remains in the sun's orbit.
The world is passing by these remains every year, and when it passes, meteor shower is formed.
The most spectacular ones are Perseid rain in August and Geminid rain in December.
The image of the meteor shower changes every year, but it is said that tonight's Geminid rain may be the most spectacular meteor shower.
