Omarosa breaks her silence on leaving the White House, denies she was dragged out and promise to tell it all
The outgoing presidential aide said she saw things at the White House that “profoundly” disturbed her — as she shot down reports that she was fired and physically removed, insisting she resigned.
The former Apprentice star told Good Morning America overnight there were things that made her “uncomfortable” and “unhappy” during her time working for the Trump administration.
I have to be very careful about [what I say] but there were a lot of things that I observed during the last year that I was very unhappy with, that I was very uncomfortable with,” Manigault Newman told host Michael Strahan.
I have seen things that have made me uncomfortable, that have upset me, that have affected me deeply and emotionally, that have affected my community and my people.
When I have a chance to tell my story, it is a profound story that I know the world will want to hear..@omarosa on her time at the White House with Trump administration: “There were a lot of things that I observed during the last year that I was very unhappy with, that I was very uncomfortable with." pic.twitter.com/qKHSyw6y4B— Good Morning America (@GMA) December 14, 2017
She also denied reports the Secret Service escorted her out after she tried to barge into President Trump’s office were false.
The White House is the most secure place in the world,” she said. “I think you should take the word of the Secret Service over someone who has a personal vendetta. She was apparently referring to April Ryan, White House bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks, who tweeted that chief of staff John Kelly “kicked her [Manigault Newman] out with high drama.
Ryan also reported that Manigault Newman “was very upset and said that she wanted to speak to the president.”
Omarosa said that she had a “straightforward” discussion with Kelly inside a secure room at the White House, where she raised issues of concern.
The outgoing aide, who enjoyed unfettered access to the president before Kelly replaced Reince Priebus as Oval Office gatekeeper, said she and other staffers “all had to adjust to his militaristic style.”
John Kelly brought much order to the White House,” she added.
Her colleagues have often questioned her role as director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison.
People had problems with my 14 years with the president,” she said.
The Secret Service has denied that its agents had to escort Manigault Newman off the premises, but noted that it had “deactivated” her security pass.
