Ercan Airport workers in North Cyprus to hold strike

Airport workers at the Ercan airport in North Cyprus will being going on a 12-hour strike today Thursday, December 29th 2016 to protest their exclusion from being members of a trade union organization. 

EMEK-IS affiliated to the Revolutionary Workers’ Unions Federation (DEV-IS) is holding a strike at Ercan Airport for the “right to belong to a trade union organisation“. 

The Cyprus Airways Services (CAS) employees’ strike began at 09.00am on Thursday and will last until 09.00 pm.

The workers also plan to hold a demonstration in front of the Assembly building at 11.00am on Thursday morning.
