Donald Trump's grandfather begged not to be deported from Germany
US president-elect Donald Trump's German grandfather, Friedrich Trump begged local authorities in southern Germany not to deport him from his German homeland in the early 20th century, a newly uncovered letter by German archivists has revealed.
The letter, signed by Friedrich Trump, who left Germany in 1885, when he was 16-year-old was discovered at the state archives in the western German region of Rhineland-Palatinate.
Friedrich Trump who was born in the Bavarian town of Kallstadt, had asked to be allowed to return to his German homeland after his wife failed to settle into life in the United States.
The letter, signed by Friedrich Trump, who left Germany in 1885, when he was 16-year-old was discovered at the state archives in the western German region of Rhineland-Palatinate.
Friedrich Trump who was born in the Bavarian town of Kallstadt, had asked to be allowed to return to his German homeland after his wife failed to settle into life in the United States.
Friedrich Trump decided to returned from the United States to Germany, in 1901 along with his wife, Elisabeth Christ, with whom he returned to New York after he was issued a deportation notice few years later.

"The American citizen and pensioner Friedrich Trump, currently residing in Kallstadt, is hereby informed that he is to depart the state of Bavaria, or face deportation," the notice states.
Bild revealed that Friedrich Trump even resorted to pleading with the
prince of Bavaria not to deport him in
an emotional letter.
He begged the "well-loved, noble, wise and just" monarch to make an exception and block the deportation order in the note, but a court would later deny the request.Friedrich Trump and his family was then forced to abandon Germany for good and move back to America in 1905, when his wife Elisabeth was pregnant with the US president-elect's father, Fred Trump.
