Barrack Obama defends Donald Trump supporter at Hillary Clinton rally

US President Barack Obama cautioned supporters at a rally for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Friday in Fayetteville, North Carolina after they began yelling at a Donald Trump supporter who interrupted him and stood up with a pro-Trump sign.

President Obama was only 10 minutes into his speech where he had just said Trump was unfit to be president of the US when he was interrupted by a white-haired white man in military attire who stood up with a sign supporting Trump.

The crowd quickly turned its attention to the man, screaming and booing at him.
A Donald Trump supporter interrupted President Barack Obama at a rally for Hillary Clinton in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Obama then repeatedly told the angry crowd to "focus" and "settle down."
“Hold up, hold up, hold up, hey listen! Listen!” Obama said as the crowd continued to boo the man with the chants of ‘Hillary.’
“Hey hey. Listen up. Hey everybody. Everybody hey. Hey. I told you to be focused and you’re not focused right now. Listen to what I’m saying” Obama continued as he tries to calm the crowd.
"Everybody sit down and be quiet for a second!" Obama said. I’m serious. Listen up,” Obama demanded. "You've got an older gentleman who is supporting his candidate," he said as the protester was escorted away from the venue.
''He’s not doing nothing. You don’t have to worry about him. This is what I mean about folks not being focused.”
"First of all, we live in a country that respects free speech," he said.
"Second of all, it looks like he might have served in our military - we've got to respect that." Third of all, he was elderly and we got to respect our elders. And fourth of all, don't boo. Vote!”
Obama continued as the crowd continued to boo whenever he made references to Donald Trump.

“Don't boo, vote! Come on,” he continued. “Now, I want you to pay attention, because if we don’t, if we lose focus, we could have problems. This is part of what's happened here during this election season. We just get stirred up for all kinds of reasons that are unnecessary.”
“Just relax,” Obama said coolly, drawing laughter, before continuing on with his remarks.
Meanwhile Donald Trump at his own campaign rally, gave a completely different account of what had happened, criticizing Obama for screaming at the protester, and not the crowd.

"He was talking to the protester, screaming at him, really screaming at him," Trump said.
"By the way, if I spoke the way Obama spoke to that protester they would say, 'He became unhinged,'" Trump said.
